Years ago, I used to have a website similar to this one under warmonitor.net, but with far more features. I still own the domain and will attempt to point it here for now. As life got busier, I didn’t have the time that I once did to write, I’m still not sure that I do now. This blog, however, though it’s format and location may only be temporary, will hopefully help me to resume those activities later on.
At the time, there was a lot to cover. But it was different then. People were more willing to accept facts so long as it was attached to supporting evidence, for example. That’s actually one reason that I’m doing this again, to spread the truth to those that are willing to listen, and perhaps even persuade a few of those that aren’t.
Another reason is that since then, Twitter (or X as it’s known as now) was a different place. Though propaganda has always been a problem, it’s nothing like it is now. For that reason, I feel my writings often get drowned out by trolls and others attempting to spread fake news. I think we know which persons are responsible for this. Like most propaganda, many social media outlets, including X, claim to be in support of free speech. Unfortunately, that’s far from the truth. The very thing they claim to protect, it’s often censored, buried or deleted, giving those spreading the misinformation an advantage over legitimate journalists, who are now deemed as outcasts by many.
This subsite on WordPress is kind of like a test, which I hopefully plan to migrate back to a private server as it used to be. I want to see if there’s still a demand for my work, and if I’m still capable of producing content like I once did. After all, common sense is no longer common and wisdom is often looked at as the enemy these days. Unlike before, I want this new way of writing to have a more relaxed feel, that which people can relate to. I will make mistakes, as at the moment I don’t have the time to keep up with the same “professional” look that I had back then. With that said, I will of course do my best in providing the most accurate and factual information that’s available to date.
The former website was primarily focused on war, hence the name. But like I said, times have changed so it’s I believe it’s now going to have to dive into other areas, which includes politics. War isn’t just fought with weapons anymore. In fact, the most effective strategy in wars of the 21st century is spreading misinformation. It’s nothing new, as it was quite common during prior world wars. But now it’s aimed at influencing populations, many of which who hold the power of voting. It’s also escalated to include greed, which is used to bribe politicians into aiding in the spread of fake information and passing laws that make the control of speech and even your vote easier than it ever has in the past.
This, is the new war and one in which every single one of us is a soldier in. I hope that you, as a reader and social media user, will help in this growing war on truth. Maybe together, we can make a difference. This won’t be easy, so lock and load.
